I am also offering some freebies – cuts from my Meow Meow fabric collection by Quilting Treasures.  I will select 2 people who make a comment on this blog or on my guest blog on Quilting Gallery to receive these free fabric cuts.  ALSO, I will be selecting 1 person to receive free Meow Meow fabric cuts from those that sign up for my newsletter.  The deadline is March 9 and I will announce the winners here.  Be sure to post your email address so I can contact you.

  1. Phyllis I read your article at the quilting gallery and your 2 years that you worked for a textile place and did placemats, tablerunners, christmas skirts and stuff like that probably help you to become a wonderful fabric designer. I love your meow meow fabric and even if there wasn’t a gift for a newsletter sign up I would still sign up. Your patterns are delightful and I can’t wait to make one…thanks for sharing.

  4. Hi Phyllis. I love your new fabric line. Very cute and totally doable. I just stitched a wallhanging today that your fabric would have been perfect for. Who will be carrying your line or will it be in all the Quilt shops?? Thanks and good luck on your wonderful success. Diane

  5. Diane, The fabrics will be available in early May. They are available for pre-ordering from Quilting Treasures by shops so that they will be shipped to them immediately when ready.

Thanks for your compliments on the fabrics! I’m glad you like them.

  6. Phyllis, Being new to sewing and quilting, I made my first quilt last May and then saw your Meow, Meow line. That inspired me to design and make my second quilt with 7″ squares, as I did not want to cut up the designs! The backing is the seven cat poses. I love the whimsical colors, phrases and poses of the kitties! Our four kitties love the feel of the soft cotton fabric and keep this quilt warm! I am looking forward to the realease of Its a Dog’s Life!

  7. Apryl, I would love for you (or anyone) making a quilt or other project with Meow Meow fabrics to send me a picture to post to my blog.

Thanks for the compliment of using Meow Meow! And I’m glad you kitties love it as well.

  8. Hi – I really liked your “guest blog”, and all the fabric you have!!! (Also, your stash – I’m just starting!). Your kitty fabric reminds me of my cat, and the new doggie fabric reminds me of my dogs (4), though all passed away now. I think my cat would love a kitty quilt with your fabric!

Thanks for helping me on the blog!

  9. Hi Phyllis- thanks for sharing this with us – how awesome! Just love love love the kitty cat fabric — that is right up my alley with all my cats!

  10. Phyllis,
Loved your story on Quilting Gallery. My love of fabrics also began at a very young age, and as soon as I could hold a needle I was “sewing” doll clothes… very rudimentary doll clothes (LOL).

Also got a chuckle from the name of your kitty fabrics, Meow Meow. Until just recently that is what my granddaughter called all cats. I think it was because she couldn’t pronounce her kitty’s name, Romeo. Every time she saw a cat she would squeal in delight and run after it calling meow-meow. Guess her mimi needs to make her a Meow Meow quilt 😀

  11. Meow Meow is an adorable fabric line.

I, too, started with other needle crafts. Needle point kits weren’t challenging enough, so I did a couple of my own designs. The trouble was they take so long to stitch. Now I prefer quilts.

  12. Oh my goodness, I so do want to make a quilt with those kitties.

  13. Hi Phyllis. The Meow Meow line is great! Every time I make a new quilt, its not officially a good quilt until my cat decides to lay on it. The harder it is for me to get her off…the better the quilt. 😉 I also started out on a different craft than quilting. My older sister used to do a lot of cross-stitch, and being a younger sister I wanted to be like my big sister, so I picked it up. I still do a lot of cross-stitch today in between doing quilting. I like to switch between the two so that I don’t get bored…although its hard to get bored fondling fabric! 🙂 Congratulations on the new fabric line! ~Sarah
