Roses are blooming – A Studio Bouquet!

I love spring and all the flowers that bloom.  As I was rushing out to the mailbox this morning to mail out my latest design projects  (sewing designs for a magazine), I “stopped to smell the roses” literally! My Knock Out roses are really starting to bloom.  I couldn’t resist – I picked a bouquet for my studio so that I could enjoy them while I worked.  Since these roses bloom profusely until almost Thanksgiving (at least here in the deep south!), I will be able to pick bouquets for the next 5 or 6 months.

I wish for each of you a bouquet of roses!

Cats in Quilts – A Little Bit Catty

I just received a copy of the April issue of Quilter’s World magazine and was delighted to see “A Little Bit Catty”, a quilt I had designed using the Meow Meow fabrics I designed for Quilting Treasures.  I really had fun making this quilt and and hope that some of you cat lovers out there will give it a try as well.

A close up of one corner:

Let me know if you give this quilt or the pattern a try!  But hurry and get a copy while its still on the newstands!

Scrapbook with fabric – Meow Meow!

Sandy Laipply, the editor of the Paper Crafts Site of the online magazine Bellaonline used Meow Meow cat fabrics from Quilting Treasures to make 2 adorable greeting cards.  The photo is the inside one of the cards – a birthday card..  Sandy furnishes instructions for making both cards on the website so be sure to check it out.

Bellaonline is an online magazine for women and covers a huge variety of topics.

Some additional information about Sandy – her son, Judson Laipply, is the YouTube mega, mega hit, Evolution of Dance and Evolution of Dance 2.

Thanks a bunch, Sandy, for making such cute cards using Meow Meow!

Guest projects – An Apron and Quilt made with Meow Meow cat fabric!

I always love it when someone tells me about sewing and quilting projects they have made using fabrics that I designed.  That is the ulimate compliment!

Apron made by Apryl with Meow Meow fabrics

Apryl is not just new to quilting, but new to sewing as well.  She had finished her first quilt when she saw the Meow Meow cat fabrics that I designed for Quilting Treasures.  She not only made her 2nd quilt ever using these fabrics, she sewed this adorable apron as well. I think Apryl is off to a good start with a wonderful hobby and know that she will enjoy many hours ahead sewing and quilting.

Thanks Apryl for sharing photo’s of your accomplishments!

Sewing and quilt designs made with fat quarters

I was fortunate to have 3 designs published in a new book, Sew Special Fat Quarter Gifts published by House of White Birches.  As the title suggests, all projects in the book were made with fat quarters (fabric cuts that a fat 1/4 yard).

My projects were varied in style, an apron, decorative towels and a Christmas quilted table runner.

The apron is made in a patchwork style with black and white fabrics. I just love how popular aprons are and all the different styles.

I designed the decorative hand towels using embellishments of beads, rick rack, and applique.

The quilted Christmas table runner is decorated with appliqued poinsettias and bead trim.

Have a great day!

Find tips for anything you need – Tipnuts.com

I love this site.  On Tipnuts.com you can find tips on everything you need on this one site – recipes, cleaning, instructions, patterns……… This site has links for cooking, DIY and craft, sewing, quilting, household tips, etc.  Its a great site to put in your favorites, or do like I did and sign up to receive their latest tips, projects and creative ideas.

Hummm, I just watched a video on this site that tells how to make dusting easier.  I hate dusting so I’m going to try some of these tips as they will save the time I spend on doing something I dislike.  Now, I just have to pencil in some dusting time on my calendar.

And I want to thank Tipnuts.com for posting a link to my free apron pattern here on my blog.

I know you will love Tipnuts.com as much as I do.

Valentine Quilted Table Runner

I’m running a little behind in posting this since Valentine’s Day was a week ago.  But I wanted to show you this Valentine Day Table runner that I designed for Quilter’s World magazine.

This is a project that you can plan for next year for Valentine’s Day , or use year round with color changes to match your decor. Hearts are great for any day of the year!

I wish you all a happy day!
